Kicking off with Apple Pie the band ease us thru thirteen tracks including the sassy Po' White Trash, and the excellent Backstage Pass which shows the band at its best, proving that they have their finger on the pulse of what's going on in music right now.
Bassist Aaron Collins and drummer Mike Calderella kick up a lively funky back-beat, providing Ethian Collins a perfect platform to show his fluent guitar technique. Dave Alvin's vocal style owes a lot to the Steven Tyler school of thought, but none the less he is very much his own man.
Tracks like Take My Soul and The Crawl are cool, sassy and give the band's horn section, "The Bad Ass Brass," a chance to show their skills. Obvious comparisons between WHITE TRASH and EXTREME have to be made and it has to be said that EXTREME do it better!
Yet WHITE TRASH are not too far behind and when the BLACK CROWES' producer George Drakoulias is involved you know they're a band who should be taken seriously. GRADE B
